A wonderful autobiography of Jimmy Capps who worked for 60 years as a musician on the Grand Ole Opry. This deluxe, hardback book covers Jimmy's early life from childhood, starting his career playing for the Louvin Brothers, his years on stage at the Opry, to his TV career of playing the Sheriff on Larry's Country Diner. Jimmy Capps tells the story in his own words. He had an amazing career, playing on many of the most famous country songs: Kenny Rogers "The Gambler", George Jones "He Stopped Loving Her Today", The Oak Ridge Boys "Elvira" and too many to list here. About 50 entertainers share their memories of having Jimmy Capps play on their biggest hits, or always ask him to work their spots when they appear on the Grand Ole Opry. The book's foreword is written by Jimmy Fortune, a member of the Statler Brothers. Jimmy Fortune says "Jimmy Capps played on the entire run of The Statler Brothers TV show". If you like country music, this is a 'must read', filled with some much information.
