Description

Back in the early 1900s Lionel Mapelson set up his giant recording horn at the Metropolitan Opera House and preserved the singers and orchestra upon the stage on wax cylinders.
His selection are presented here in 6 LPs, among the live sound captured are scenes from Carmen, La Traviata, Tosca, and many more.
The LPs come in a very nice box with informational booklet that is pretty thick and educational.
Vinyl is VG+, graded conservatively, super clean.
There is one small tear in a center label on side 8. The box has some wear particularly at the corners of the front and back covers. The spine's hinge is coming apart, it still hinges for the time being but if not treated with care the front of the box will become a top that lifts up, not a hinged bit. I would classify it as VG.
Book is in good condition with light wear at corners and spine, no ripped or missing pages. There is a "Music Library" sticker taped into the first page.
Please see pictures & let me know if you have any questions.
