Description
The Maynard Ferguson Sextet, the 1965 pressing of their self-titled album in stereo. Issued by Mainstream Records (S/6060).
The jacket appears to have a printing error. The cover art would be offset slightly lower for the stereo albums, so the word "STEREO" and the stereo version's catalog number would be visible at the top. For mono albums, they would shift the art upward, cutting off the stereo version information, leaving the mono version's catalog number visible at the bottom. This is a stereo album that was put in a mono jacket, and a "STEREO" sticker was pasted on the front of the jacket by the manufacturer.
The record is a deep groove pressing and appears to be in very good condition. The sleeve is present, but has some tanning, small tears and light creases. Jacket has some wear, several discrete creases and some runs in the laminate. Stored in an archival album bag for conservation purposes.
