Description

An original 1st stereo pressing of ISOTLC on the DERAMIC label from 1968. Matrix 1W/1W - very 1st cut. Please note the label design is consistent with 1st press from autumn 1968. Firstly, the tape number is still upside down. Secondly, the 'All Rights..' statement runs along the foot of the label - by 1970 this jumps to the top of the label. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Robert Stace cover. 1st issue covers are identifiable by the additional piece of card added on the right hand side forming a pocket for the record. Also included is the original Decca inner sleeve date coded to Sep -1968 [0968] one month after 1st release. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In absolutely superb condition and has seen the very lightest of use. Under close inspection we struggled to make out a single mark. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. This is a lovely clean rendition of 'Lost Chord' which is exactly what is required. And believe me, with a multitude of acoustic percussive passages, only a super-clean copy is ever going to reveal 'Lost Chord' in all its glory. Interference is practically non-existent. We didn't detect more than a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments.
Cover (ExEx+) Very well preserved and has been carefully looked after. Perfectly shiny front without creasing. The rear is equally good with perhaps lightest ageing at the extremities. The interior is in lovely condition - no issues. Edge wear is super light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A super specimen.
Inner (Ex) Lightest ageing. No splits.
