Notes
One term: Spy-Fi. The Moon-Rays are an overlooked gem from Chicago from the early 2000’s who still maintain a sporadic existence today. Their 2002 debut album “Thrills & Chills” is a well-woven blend of horror surf, lounge and jazz coated with a mysterious spy theme to create a variation of sounds that result in splendid uniformity. From a more classic feel in “1313 Mockingbird Lane” to the horror surf rippers “Beat Girl” and “Shockwave” to the spy themed “Lament For A Trapped Spy” and “Experiment In Terror” you get a record that is exciting, classic, dark, surfy, yet elegant. Some of these songs have made appearances in films. This album won the 2002 JPF Indie Music Award, ranking #1 out of 30,000! This is the first time this album has been made available on vinyl. It was released CD-only in 2002 and has been out of print since. It’s part of our Super Exclusive Series. Limited to 100 copies on vinyl.price rating
