Description
COME, COME TO THE SUNSET TREE is an LP of demos produced for the Mountain Goats’ 2005 album, The Sunset Tree. It contains eight songs that wound up on the finished album, the B-side “Collapsing Stars,” and the outtakes “High Doses #2” and “The Day The Aliens Came.”

What makes this record extra-special is that 1000 numbered copies were made, and each one had a hand-made sleeve. This particular copy is #072/1000 dated 4/17/05, and it is quite interesting. The minimalist design consists of the words “RUN AWAY!” spelled out with teddy-bear stickers on the front, the words “DO IT NOW” in pink gingham-style stickers on the back, and little red magic-marker squiggles and lines in each corner. The track listing is on the front; the number is on the back.
I only played my copy of this record once. I would conservatively grade the disc as VG+. There may be a faint mark here or there, but overall, the record is basically in the same condition as it was when I bought it. I put the record in an Original Master Sleeve after I got it, so you’ll get that as well. The cover is in decent shape; the back lower-left corner is bent, and a couple of the other ones may be dinged. Again, this is how it arrived.
