Description

Up for auction is an extremely rare 45rpm 7” release by The Mummies. Titled, Sh*tsville, this four song EP is one of fifty pressed as a test pressing. Reportedly, Trent Mummie was not pleased with the mastering job due to testing his on an old 70’s styled Panasonic record player. The United Records pressing “U” number is different and in the tail off dead wax are the words “When in doubt, punk it out”. No standard released copies have this written in the dead wax. These were only given out to band members and fans at the time and i’ve never seen copy come up for sale.

Visually vinyl looks VG++. Upon playback there is a very light surface noise at the intro before music starts. Nice high gloss and sheen. Center label has very light age wear. Record grades VG++.

For all you Mummies fans out there in Ebay land, this will most likely be your only chance to obtain one of these first mastering Mummies Sh*tsville records as the pressing plates were destroyed and these test pressings with the “punk it out” written in the tail off section will never ever be repressed.
