Description

Up for sale is a 1983 copy of Donald Fagen's "The Nightfly" produced by the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MoFi) with the catalog number MFSL 1-120.

 

This is one record from a large vinyl collection that I got at a moving sale. The collection was stored in archival sleeves. There are no jackets, liner notes or lyrics. This collection has likely sat dormant for the last 20 - 30 years.

 

This rare copy of The Nightfly is in excellent condition with the exception of some sort of marks on side one that cover about 2 - 2 1/2 inch portion of the outer rim (see photo #5.) Studying the area with a magnifying glass, a couple of the tiny marks enter into the first 2 grooves of song #1. I don't know what they are. At first I thought it was some sort of residue but light cleaning with naphtha changed nothing. I don't real feel anything with my finger or finger nail.


I have included a video of the record as it starts on track #1. I started it 4 times all with the same results. Please Note the clicks before the actual music starts.


I am sorry my brother-in-law can be heard talking in the background. It surprised me as he was across a rather large room. I can't complain, it is his turntable :)
