Review:
In 1976, vocalist/guitarist Adrian Borland, bassist Bob Lawrence, and drummer Adrian Janes formed the Outsiders, one of the original British punk bands. Fittingly named, even by punk's by-the-numbers standards, the trio were often sniffed upon by the remainder of the scene for having longer hair and more formal education in their backgrounds. With financial help from Borland's supportive parents, the band pressed 1000 copies of their debut Calling on Youth and released it in June of 1977 through their own Raw Edge label. Borland's worship of the Stooges and the Velvet Underground permeated their material, much of which had been committed to tape prior to the revelation of the Sex Pistols. In fact, during an encore performance of "Raw Power" at the infamous Roxy, Iggy Pop jumped on stage to join the band, which quickly became one of the greatest highs of Borland's accomplished career. The One to Infinity EP followed shortly after the release of the debut. The darker Close Up was issued in early 1979, also on Raw Edge. At some point prior to breaking up that year, Graham Bailey joined the fold. Borland and Bailey continued working together in the Sound.

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in the sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (US version of this term: Near Mint): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in the sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (US version of this term: VG++): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover, or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (US version of this term: VG): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits etc.
