'CALL AGAIN' b/w 'SOME THINGS I CAN'T FORGET'
Rare UK Original 45 on IMMEDIATE RECORDS IM 006 from 1965
The POETS are definitely one of the all-time most collectible bands of the 1960's, they were all-out full-ticket MODS.
Like The Small Faces, The WHO, Creation, Action and Birds, they represented the mod culture and music - though apart from one Decca single they didn't manage to sell many records at the time! Two great 45s by the group were issued on Andrew Loog Oldham's own IMMEDIATE lable - this one, and the R'n B classic 'Baby Don't You Do It' (which The Who also issued years later, as a live 'b' side).
This single is, along with 'Wooden Spoon', one of their rarest issues from their career.
Perhaps it's due to the choice of 'A' side, which Oldham probably picked for them.
The flip 'SOME THINGS I CAN'T FORGET' is the best track, in my opinion, and is more like the style they are renowned and now highly regarded for.
Few of these EVER come up for sale, perhaps half-a-dozen in several years (and those might include a repeat sale or two!)
CONDITION;
The VINYL grades VG/EX,
(some rub-line scuff to the 'A', but this plays NM so the marks are surface only)
The lables are EX, clean, no pen, stickers or stains. GREAT!
A VERY rare single and a decent playing copy!
