"A sort of concept album, some call it the first Rock Opera based on a story by Phil May about an imaginary character called Sebastian F. Sorrow. Starting from birth and through love, war, tragedy and madness reaches old age`s disenchantment. Musically, its an incredible glorious colourful paradisiacal acid drenched mix of sounds, ranging from haunting minimalistic psychedelia to sprawling refreshing Freakbeat along with Eastern drones, guitar freakouts, mellotrons, wind instruments, surrounded by euphoric harmonies. One of the best British Psych albums ever released! Personally, this is one of the TOP 3 albums ever recorded! British PSYCH BLISS!"
Amen to that and couldn't have said it better. Here is a great copy of this great album.
SLEEVE: The laminated Ernest J. Day & co gatefold cover is whole and clean. Although some general age wear is visible, there are no rips, tears, slits, creasing or writing. No ring wear on front cover, a little ring wear on back cover. The spine has a little rubbing (from age) but still fully legible. The opening is sharp and strong. Original inner bag. Depending on the eyes that see (see photos) and how strict to interpret the RC grading system, it`s probably in the region of VG+ - EX.
LABELS: clean. EX
RECORD: Looks glossy and shiny - nice sheen. Under light some wispy, light hairlines that do not affect sound. EX.
SOUND/AUDIO: A great listen! Plays through without any major problems. No or minimal background noise (varies). Slight surface noise between tracks. No scratches or pops but on track 2 side 1 can be heard 3 tiny clicks in the intro, otherwise the track plays great. As does the rest of the album! No sound distortion. Crystal clear, dynamic and organic sound. So overall VG+ - EX (mostly EX!).
