The Parliaments - Testifyin' / Unreal Northern Soul comp of George Clinton's pre-funk Parliament / UK 1997 press on Goldmine
This collection was the first version of the Goldmine/Soul Supply Parliament's compilation. All 19 of these cuts were recorded during the late '50s and '60s when Clinton and co tried to go the conventional route of making soul records and score hits on both the Golden World and Revilot Records imprints, and before they became the legendary Parliament tripping off into P-Funk. This is brilliant, spacy early soul laced with classic traces of hard '50s R&B, some rootsy rock & roll, and doo wop.
Don't hang about this LP doesn't appear very often. No offers.
The LP is graded at VG+ as there are some tiny surface marks. Nothing major, plays good for it's age.
