Description


The Pentangle - 1st LP

(Transatlantic TRA 162 UK LP 1968)


This is a UK original Stereo LP pressing. It has a fully laminated sleeve & comes with its original generic company plain paper inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has part textured white & purple "Transatlantic" labels. The record has 1st press A-2/ B-1 matrix stampers. Their excellent debut LP. Great 1960's UK Folk/ Acid Folk. This is one of their less common UK LP's.


Sleeve: There is a 3 cm tear at the front sleeve opening (see photo). This is near the top. At the Transatlantic logo area. It could be carefully repaired. It probably wouldn't notice afterwards. There is some mild rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is some mild, very mild or more moderate rubbing wear on the sleeve opening edges. There are a couple of quite long hairline indentation marks on the rear sleeve. There is some mild to more moderate laminate lifting on the rear sleeve. This is at the spine area. The spine is nice & clean overall. The spine text is clearly legible. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear on some areas. Overall, Very Good condition

Vinyl: There are some light, mild or very mild sleeve rubs which can only be seen under a strong light. The inner sleeve, over time, has left some light, very mild or very minor dull surface marks on some areas. These, again, can only be seen under a strong light. Overall, Very Good+ condition. The labels are in Excellent condition & show light spindle wear only. The company inner sleeve is in Good+ condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear & creasing. There is some more moderate fading. There are 3 small tears at the die-cut centre area. There are no seam splits.

I have fully play tested this LP. It plays Very Good+ to Near Excellent overall & Excellent in many places. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in a few quieter places. Overall, a very decent audio copy.
