Description
Here we have an original copy of Los Angeles group The Philosophers’ "After Sundown" LP on the Philo Spectrum Records label from 1970. It’s featured in Hans Pokora’s 3001 Record Collector Dreams (with a 3 stars-out-of-6 rating for rarity) and the Acid Archives book. The 8 tracks are all originals, and a freaky, funky late-night club mood prevails. Plenty of grooves and Latin soul, with some fuzz guitar and a backwards number. "In response to time, change and need, we were created to stimulate man, woman and child."
The cover is VG+ with some front and rear ringwear (not certain, but I think some of what you see at the bottom is part of the front cover design). The disc is VG with audible scratches during the first cut on Side One and the first half of Side Two. Think I got this copy from the Bomp warehouse back in the 1990s, so it’s probably something Greg Shaw fished out of the depths. Rare!
