Description
THE PINK FLOYD - 'SEE EMILY PLAY'/'SCARECROW'
This genuine UK demo of was circulated to select DJs and press contacts in the UK just prior to its June 1967 release.
This particular copy came from the collection of the late BBC broadcaster, Geoffrey Wheeler.
This 100% genuine pre-release demo disc (DB 8214) is on the green Columbia label with a large white 'A' on the 'See Emily Play' side.
Both labels also carry the wording 'DEMONSTRATION RECORD - NOT FOR SALE' and 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd..' rim texts.
The 'KT' purchase tax code is present in the centre of the 'See Emily Play' label & in both run-outs.
Matrix numbers: 7XCA 30214-1 & 7XCA 30215-1
Earliest possible stamper codes: 1/G & 1/G
Housed, unfortunately not in its promo picture sleeve, but in a green/white Columbia company sleeve.

Labels: EXCELLENT +
Both are clean, bright & free from any writing or missing paper. There are several spindle marks around the 'Scarecrow' centre hole and just a small handful on the 'A' side, but no stickers or writing anywhere.
Visual: VERY GOOD +
Both playing surfaces are clean & glossy but do bear several light surface marks each side which are mostly light fingernail scuffs, but nothing I would call a scratch. Close examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp shows up a number of wispy marks but again, nothing major.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT
The fine sounding copy has received limited play on broadcast equipment and retains all of its power or energy and plays without any significant or audible faults.
