"The Power and the Glory" Volume I
RARE Limited Edition Direct to Disk
German pressing on pure virgin vinyl
M & K Sound Real Time Direct to Disk RT-114
Technical Notes from the album jacket:
"For this recording the D.C. frequency response capability of the M&K RealTime Recording process was fully "put to the test". Two omni-directional D.C. coupled condenser microphones were placed as stereo pair in the center of this large cathedral, space precisely between the pipe organs located at either end. These organs are separated by hundreds of feet which is audibly evident upon listening to the tremendous ambiance and decay time so faithfully catpured on this disc...
In addition to having so accurately captured the fundamental frequencies of the 32 foot ranks, we have also accurately captured the natural beat frequencies generated by these huge pipes with an energy content which lies well below 16 hz. Most toneare/phono cartridge resonances are in this region between 5 and 20 Hz. This resonance is easily excited by the relatively high groove velocities at subsonic frequencies sound on this disc and can, therefore, cause mechanical oscillation when the tonearm cartridge combination in indaequately damped, causing severe intermodulation distortion....
If your stereo system has a well-damped tonearm and cartridge, a turntable with good feedback isolation, and a good subwoofer, you will experience a new low in bass energy and ambience."
Tracks;
- Bach: Toccata and Fugue in D minor

GOLDMINE GRADING
MINT ---- It should appear to be perfect. No scuffs or scratches, blotches or stains, labels or writing, tears or splits. Mint means perfect.
NEAR MINT ---- Otherwise mint but has one or two tiny inconsequential flaws that do not affect play. Covers should be close to perfect with minor signs of wear or age just becoming evident: slight ring-wear, minor denting to a corner, or writing on the cover should all be noted properly.
VERY GOOD PLUS ---- The record has been handled and played infrequently or very carefully. Not too far from perfect. On a disc, there may be light paper scuffs from sliding in and out of a sleeve or the vinyl or some of the original luster may be lost. A slight scratch that did not affect play would be acceptably VG+ for most collectors.
VERY GOOD ---- Record displays visible signs of handling and playing, such as loss of vinyl luster, light surface scratches, groove wear and spindle trails. Some audible surface noise, but should not overwhelm the musical experience. Usually a cover is VG when one or two of these problems are evident: ring wear, seam splits, bent corners, loss of gloss, stains, etc.
GOOD ---- Well played with little luster and significant surface noise. Despite defects, record should still play all the way through without skipping. Several cover flaws will be apparent, but should not obliterate the artwork.
