The Pretty Things - Get The Picture? LP - Fontana mono
This record is dirty. I don't mean the vinyl, that's just been cleaned and shines. I mean the sound - it's low down, sleazy and mean. With the valve amps and vintage Quad speakers I'm currently using it sounds filthy gorgeous.That's the good news. The bad news is the vinyl is VG- if I'm generous. There are surface marks of varying degrees so if you want a mint one look elsewhere. That being said it's vintage mono vinyl and it's tough stuff! There's surface noise in the quieter parts but this is powerful music (did I mention that already?) and mere marks are no match. There's none of that kazoo like distortion, even on the loud bits at the end.
The laminated sleeve is VG.
I'm also selling Emotions by the Pretty Things today.
Like many of the records I'm selling today this came from the large collection of a busy man now aged 61. Due to the size of his collection many of the LPs were only played once or twice from new - some were never played and they were all properly looked after. His musical taste was towards the avant garde/free end of the jazz spectrum as well as being a fan of prog, psych and experimental music. I will be selling selected records from his collection over the next few years so please add me to your favourites list!
