Description
The brudders Ramone with their brilliant End Of The Century LP which was produced by legendary producer (and now murderer) Phil Spector who pioneered the "wall of sound" on his "three minute teen operas". The saying that there is a very fine line between genius and madness is so appropriate to the uber-producer that it could have been coined with him in mind and The Ramones spoke of being held at gunpoint for three days at Spector's home during the recording & Johnny having to play the opening chord to 'Rock 'N' Roll High School' over three hundred times before Spector was happy with it. However, irrespective of his madness (or perhaps because of it) there is no doubt that he got results and this is one hell of a great album. On this album is The Ramones version of 'Chinese Rocks' which Johnny Thunders claimed to have written but Dee Dee Ramone's claims to be the true writer should be considered truthful given that Richard Hell backed his claim.
These records come from my personal collection. They have all been extremely well cared for over the years since I bought them (but they do not come from a pet or smoke free environment). Circumstances have forced my hand & I will be listing a number of my treasured records, ranging from punk to psych/prog to soul to folk to blues and everything inbetween, over the coming months. If you like this record there is a good chance others I am selling may tickle your fancy, so please feel free to have a look. It may have been some time since some of these records have been played so they may be in need of a thorough clean before playing. I hope they find their way into the hands of people who will love them as much as I have over the years. Thanks for looking & good luck should you decide to bid. Please note that I will be away from the beginning of January 2010 until the middle of the same month. Prior to my departure I will post all records that are paid for by the end of December 2009 but any records paid for after that time will not be posted until my return.

Sire Records: SRK 6077. American pressing. Record is graded as EX- & it's cover graded as VG++ with some ringwear, slight edgewear and name written inside record entry slit.
We use the UK Record Collector grading system and we grade conservatively. We will only use a mint grading for a record we know to have been unplayed. (M) Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items are in perfect condition. (EX) Excellent: The record shows slight signs of having been played but there is no lessening in sound quality and the cover and packaging are as new. (VG) Very Good: The record has obviously been played quite a few times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality. A slight amount of wear and tear on the cover and extra items is acceptable. (G) Good: The record still produces a reasonable, playable sound but has obviously been played a lot. Although showing wear and tear, neither the record or cover/extra items display major defects. (F) Fair: Sound quality has deteriorated markedly. The cover/extra items display folding, scuffing, marks etc.
Please note that this record has been graded visually only.
Any glare in the photos is from my lack of photographic skills only.
