hello, this auction is for the first residents release santa dog, from 1972
this is for 2x 7" only no sleeve, to my knowledge they never made enough sleeves for all the records so 100 or so got given out in just plain white 7" sleeves. i think the story goes, there should have been 500 complete copies but due to comlications with the sleeves printing they only got 300-400 , so they had more discs than sleeves, you probly already know the story of the sleeve if you are reading this but if not you can find info on wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Dog or discogs http://www.discogs.com/Residents-Santa-Dog/release/101775
the discs are exactly the same as the ones that came with a cover, same labels and matrix numbers as they were all pressed together.
i have a copy of this with cover too so i am selling this as i dont need two lots of the vinyl.
now for the bad bit, one of the discs has a crack in it, this crack goes right through the play area of the disc but amazingly it still plays, i have recorded all 4 sides on my camera and posted on youtube so you can hear this and judge for yourself how well these play, the crack is on the songs lightning and explosion so please listen to them carefully and you will hear a bit of a pop where the crack is. there is some noise from my camera please dont mistake it as surface noise , you will hear it even when the disc isnt spinning etc,

the discs all show signs of wear ,a few scratches etc but they all play great and you can hear this for yourself, i would visible give them a vg though as the labels all show wear too, i have done a close up pic of all four sides so you can see this for yourself.
i am happy to get a colour photcopy on card of my cover made up for you if you desire just so you have the artwork and the details etc, please ask if you win and i will sort this out for free.
i am aware this is a bit of a strange auction with the damage etc, but felt this might give someone the chance to own this without having to pay $1000+ which they normally go for with cover when they occasionally turn up on ebay.no reserve etc so a potential bargain.
i am happy for item to be viewed and collected from my house in oxfordshire england as i would like the buyer to be fully satisfied.
i have tried to show all details of this as accurately as possible and want buyers to be aware of the flaws this record has, but despite these things it is still very playable and im sure someone will be very happy with it, i was gonna keep it as a listening copy but need the money as im going to germany next month to see the residents.
