Description

Hard to find Score label deep groove monaural LP from The Art Pepper Quintet “The Return Of Art Pepper” (Score SLP 4032).

The quintet consists of Art Pepper (alto sax), Jack Sheldon (trumpet), Russ Freeman (piano), Leroy Vinnegar (bass) and Shelly Manne (drums).

The tracklist is: Pepper Returns/Broadway/You Go To My Head/Angel Wings/Funny Blues/Five More/Minority/Patricia/Mambo De La Pinta/Walkin’ Out Blues.

Visually the LP is in excellent condition with just a few sleeve scuffs and superficial marks. I was very pleased that one scuff I was concerned about played through with very little notice. The labels indicate very little play. The performances are crisp and clear however bidders should be aware of the surface noise that exists on this LP which is fairly typical of Score label LPs (and many other 1950s LPs). If this will bother you please do not bid. However, if you want to hear some killer jazz this is for you. The front and back of the cover show just light wear with no writing. The top seam and the spine show wear and are beginning to split.

NO reserve. I ship worldwide and will combine winning bids to save on postage. In the US, the winning bidder pays choice of media mail ($3.10) or priority shipping (based on ZIP code). Good luck!
