Description

An original 1st issue of BIG HITS on the UK Decca label. Matrix 2A/3A. Please note that the labels still exhibit the Decca deep-groove per the early 1st issue copies. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Mono gatefold cover - not a peephole version like the later versions. Also included is the original Decca inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex-) Lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Please note there is one mark crossing the end of track 2 and the start of 3 [side 2]. It's just feelable and does sound [see detail below]..but it plays through it fine. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation.  Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Interference is both minor and infrequent. I couldn't detect more than a few crackles in the odd isolated spot. The mark mentioned above does cause a few ticks at the end of 'G.O.M.C.' and then more noticeably a few pops as 'TEARS' starts. The 'TEARS' issue is the only one I'd describe as invasive - but it's over shortly after Jagger's vocal comes in... so it's by no means game-over. By and large a very nice and clean rendition - 'Lady Jane' plays real sweet. But you need to weigh up the issue caused by the mark and the LP is priced with this in mind.
Cover (Vg+) Bit of light fading on the front, but otherwise pretty tidy with barely a crease. The rear is clean and I can only make out a couple of light thumbnail creases, and a bit of tape residue at the foot. The interior looks good too - photo pages are still attached with one or two with a couple of creases. There's a bit of edge wear in places - at the foot of the right hand panel there's a two inch wear through..and a bit of tape residue. All text on the spine is still legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) No splits - just some light ageing.
