An original 1st issue of the DEBUT from summer 1964. Matrix 2A/3A. Please note there are earlier '1st pressings' - some very highly sought after. But this copy conforms to 1st issue and would have been available for purchase only a couple of months after 1st release whilst it charted. The early copies are easy to spot thanks to a couple of errors on the label. The most noticeable being the track listed as 'MONA' - which is in fact Bo Diddley's - "I Need You Baby". All the DJ's apparently referred to it as 'MONA' and that's what the typographers went with. It was soon corrected, along with the 'Bozier' publishing credit which should read 'Dozier'. 'Honest I Do' - should be credited to 'Reed'. So, this is most certainly an early copy before a lot of these errors were all tidied up. These early credentials are also supported by the stampers "1M/1K" - which is close on to that 1st mother for this matrix cut. The vinyl comes housed in an original Mono cover. We also have a mid sixties original Decca poly-lined inner sleeve too. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex-/Vg+) In very nice condition and has only seen light to moderate use. Under close inspection I can only make out a few light marks, and a couple of superficial trails, the odd radial superficial mark - absolutely nothing heavy or that would trouble this early heavy pressing. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAREXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations. When on song this LP has a truly fantastic delivery. All of the energy and vibrancy of the original recording - maybe those early stampers are helping out here. There's a bit of background in the odd place, but nothing interferes or lessens the enjoyment of this masterpiece. Expect a bit of background audible in a couple of the quieter tracks like 'Tell Me' & 'You Can Make It'. At no point does this interfere or sound invasive. It's just audible low-level background and in no way spoils these quieter tracks. A highly recommended rendition from this early Mono '64 copy. A humdinger!!
Cover (Vg) Usually found in pretty poor condition this example is around about average - maybe marginally better than average. There's a good bit of creasing on the front and one small spot of laminate lift. Overall not too bad - many copies will not have survived this well. The rear seems to have avoided the worst of the ageing process. Do note that there's a tape residue mark along that opening edge. Edge wear is relatively light and the openings are still sharpish. The spine is in very good order with all text legible - just a few light stress creases. Overall the cover retains really good rigidity. A [VG] grading might not seem that impressive, but on this title even VG+ is a hard find. 
Inner (Vg+) Lightly aged. But no splits.
