Description
For sale is The Rolling Stones' Hot Rocks 1964-1971, originally released in 1971 by London Records and reissued in 1981 in a double album set with a gate-fold presentation. This record was also released by London Records and manufactured by Abkco Records, Inc. in the United States. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks are the matrix numbers C-5/C-3/C-5/C-4, followed by an etched "9-81" indicating an early stamper was used to make this reissued record. On the bottom of the blue label is the number "53" preceding "All Rights Reserved.." signifying the location where the records were pressed, which was the Keel Mfg. Company of Hauppauge. N.Y. These hallmarks are sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. I bought this record set used, professionally cleaned them on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put them into two MFSL archival inner sleeves. This protects the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. There are no original inner sleeves with this listing. The Cover is graded as Excellent with only some corner rubs and faint ring wear. The spine is Excellent with a little color loss from rubs. The vinyl is visually graded as NM- for Disc One and between Excellent and NM- for Disc Two with faint sleeve marks noticeable on the second disc. I'm play grading them as an average of NM-, with Disc one as Near Mint and Disc two closer to Excellent with some occasional low level surface noise that is only noticeable during the quiet passages. This is the best copy of this hard to find album that I have ever seen or heard and you would be hard pressed to find one in this condition. It would be a welcome addition to anyone's collection. I have more Rock and Roll albums, as well as records of all different genres in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're predominately Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing. I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
