Description

The Rolling Stones 1st LP red MONO lable.

Side 1, track 4, Mona is listed as I NEED YOU BABY

My wife recently came out with the comment of “as you never play your records now you might as well put them on Ebay”. In retrospect this is a fair comment, since the arrival of cassettes in 1964 I have used my records as a library to make compilation tapes and later CDs. I do collect music and in recent years this is now stored on computer so the records, going back to 1956, are now surplus to requirement and are on Ebay to be sold.

Condition. From other advetisements I have seen the 'standard' for describing records and I have used The Record Collector Magazine’s GRADING GUIDE which is copied below, based on that, the condition is MY OPINION of their condition which may NOT match yours. A minimum of 1 (one) track per side has been play to remind me of the condition. You can inspect BEFORE bidding if you wish. This is a sale of a personal collection.

LP condition is EXCELLENT, cover and sleeve in good used condition with marks from general handling, storage and age. The sleeve manufactures adhesive on overlap joints has age deteriorated (I know the feeling) and may require a little line of glue.

Combined postage is offered for more than one purchase. For more records go to "see other items".

Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide:

"MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler."
