Original UK 1965 early pressing with red grooved label
EX (sleeve)/ EX (vinyl-aural) condition
A note on my approach to selling records: I take revealing photos, often in harsh light, so that you can actually see what you’ll get. I also describe honestly what you’ll hear. Too often I have felt disappointed with albums bought on eBay because the photos didn't show enough detail and likewise the description didn't go into enough detail or over-graded. Sleeve: EX
See photos. Very nice and clean both sides - rare for this album. Slight overall age-related rubbing wear on both sides from contact with other albums, but laminate has retained most of its sheen. No laminate lift, no splits, all edges still sharp, no writing or stickers, and the spine is in really nice fully legible condition.Inner sleeve: EX
Original inner sleeve in clean and crisp condition, totally intact, no splits, one or two 'age spots' where there is very light yellowing, and has a light natural crease from decades spent inside the sleeve.Labels: VG
Spindle marks - clearly the record has been played, but the labels are in otherwise great condition.
Vinyl-visual: VG
It has been played, but both sides are clean with a nice black sheen. There are some surface marks and fine lines to be seen, but they are only obvious in harsh artificial light (see photos), and might go unnoticed in natural daylight. These are not scratches and there is no groove damage. They do not make any sound when the LP is played.
Vinyl-aural: EX
Despite the visual marks, it plays almost perfectly on both sides all the way through. From beginning to end a full-bodied great 'wall of mono sound' without scratches or distortion. There is little unwanted noise apart from a little crackle along the run-in grooves, occasional very light surface noise, and one or two inconsequential one-off little clicks throughout the whole listening experience - totally enjoyable!
GRADING:
I follow Record Collector guidelines, and use Good (G or G+), Very Good (VG or VG+), Excellent (EX or EX+), and Near Mint or Mint. The majority of the records I sell range from VG+ to Near Mint, and come from my collection of over 1,500 albums and singles. I listen to them on a Rega Planar 3 turntable.
