In my search for the "Holy Grail" of Sticky Fingers pressings, I recently found this one: https://www.discogs.com/release/12560439-The-Rolling-Stones-Sticky-Fingers
I will call this an "early" pressing since I don't know if it is truly a "First" pressing.
According to the Discogs listing:
"This is a release for the German market having a zipper with a non-circular hole. It has no A PROMOTONE N.V. RECORD on labels.
T.M.L in the dead wax stands for The Mastering Lab.
This early German edition is mastered by Doug Sax."
This copy definitely matches the Discogs description.
The fact that the labels do not have "A Promotone N.V. Record" printed on them, indicates this is a very early pressing.
However, In the interest of full disclosure, this copy must have been well loved by the previous owner and played many, many times. There are far too many pops and clicks and crackle throughout for my taste. Especially in between tracks and during quieter passages of music. When the music really starts rockin' though, it is hardly noticeable. The record does play all the way through with no skips or jumps.
I did clean this vinyl very well on my Record Cleaning Machine, but still to my OCD ears, too noisy for me.
Perhaps the winning bidder will have a better machine than mine to try and clean out the grooves.
That being said, there will be no returns of this record.
The record jacket is in decent shape for it's age. Normal wear and tear for a 50+ year old album. See photos for actual condition. Zipper is a large pull "Zipp" type with non round hole. Buckle has creases and tiny tears but is all there.
After cleaning I replaced the paper inner sleeve with a brand new MoFi anti static sleeve. Original paper inner sleeve will be included.
