Original 1st pressing promotional DJ radio station copy of The Rolling Stones 11th US studio album “Sticky Fingers” whose commercial release occurred on April 23, 1971. It was the 1st album without Brian Jones and the first one recorded on the Rolling Stones Records founded by the band in 1970. The currently listed promo copy was pressed at the Presswell Records plant in Ancora, NJ containing a promotional “Sample Copy Not For Sale” white labels with the “COC-59100” catalog number and a double pressing ring. Original 1st print Andy Warhol’s design scandal cover with a real working metal zipper and an original “Promotional Copy Not For Sale” promo sticker. "Sticky Fingers" was the first album to feature the famous "tongue and lips" logo initially created by John Pasche. Considering that this promotional copy was pressed several months before the official release date, the red "tongue and lips" track listing sticker located on the back cover was from the first batch of stickers ever made. Very early 1st print cover with the bottom right-hand corner having the credits, which are absent on the repressing: "Distributed by ATCO Records. Division of Atlantic Recording Corporation ©1971 Musidor, N.V. Printed in U.S.A. by Sound Packaging Corp." The credits located in the bottom left-hand corner read: "Rolling Stones Records T.M. 1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y. 10023". This copy comes with the original "Sticky Fingers" custom inner sleeve that contains a photo of the band on one side and a large "tongue and lips" logo on the other. Very early true 1st pressing with the -A / -B matrix numbers. The full matrix numbers are as follows: Side 1 - ST-RS-712189 A Rolling Stones Records; Side 2 - ST-RS-712190 B PR Rolling Stones Records.

The promotional cover is graded as Excellent. It's very clean and has only some very light shelf wear in a couple of places and a light creases at the bottom left corner of the back cover. It doesn't have any writing, splits, residue, soiling ring wear or tears. The sturdy spine contains a fully readable text. The zipper is in fully working condition. The vinyl is graded as strong Very Good. It retains its factory lacquer but has some surface marks and scuffs as well as some scuffs from the original inner sleeve which is in Near Mint Minus condition and doesn't have any splits or tears. The snow white labels are super clean and are in Near Mint Minus condition without having any scuffs, wear or spindle marks. The vinyl plays great with a punch and dynamic Stereo sound only having some light occasional static which is more noticeable during the quiet parts and most likely would get reduced or go away if the record was professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
