7'':The Rolling Stones,Sympathy For The Devil

(Single) 'The A-side is a unique version (edit) of Sympathy Of The Devil. See f.i. Zentgraf entry 730900E. Although the edit isn't mentioned on the cover or label, this particular single is, as far as I know, the first (of two) known with this edited version (the other one is (r5876200))!! The edit has been made by Juul Geleick an engineer of Radio Veronica (in the 60's and 70's a very popular commercial offshore Dutch radiostation) because the original SFTD was too long for airplay...
This happened with the OK of the Dutch record company but when the band and DECCA in England found out they were quite upset. Especially about the sleeve with the Veronica ship on it. Once the record actually hit the top 40 the commotion died down'
