Description
THE SENSATIONS – War Boat / Mr Blue – 7” release on UK Techniques label from 1970 (TE-902).
You are bidding for a nice near mint copy of this sought after Reggae single by the Sensations produced by Winston Riley in Jamaica for his Techniques label and released on the Trojan subsidiary label of the same name in the UK.
Visually the vinyl is in really nice condition, appearing unplayed and virtually as new. The paper Techniques labels are slightly textured and are in equally nice clean condition with little evidence of any spindle marking. When spinning on the deck it is flat with no edge warp.
The matrix numbers on the A side are hand etched TE902A (the machine stamped ones having been struck out), whilst the B side has machine stamped TE+902+B - I include photos of each of these.
Audibly the sound quality is great with no defects noted, which I would grade as a strong Ex+, possibly even M-.
This copy comes in a plain wavey edge white paper sleeve which has a little age wear / creasing, but overall is in really nice collectable condition which I would grade as Ex.
Overall then a beautiful near mint Ex+/Ex (vinyl/sleeve) copy of this great Reggae gem, which I think you will be hard pressed to find another copy which is any better than this.
