THE ART OF FUGUING -
Town Hall S-20 Multiple Mic Version 2LP Gatefold -
RARE & VERY FINE!
One of the finest disc sets ever produced, "The Art Of Fuguing" is a dynamic recording experiment from the historic Town Hall series of recordings, which are quite rare and incredible sounding, I promise you.
Two editions were produced, one capturing the acoustic and players with multiple microphones in use; the other simply using one stereo mic.
Point in all this, was to compare the two different mic presentations, to see which delivered the most natural sense of what really happened in the hall. The wonderful orchestration is by Malloch of Bach's THE ART OF THE FUGUE.
This is the multiple-mic version, which some audiophiles argued presents more detail and greater clarity and presence.
Do note, as you play this version, to turn up the volume until the "view" is as real in size in your listening room as you can imagine and would expect. Use only your ears in this. Do NOT simply turn up the volume to the point where the potentiometer usually is. This will cheat it, collapse it, hide its musical glories.
An extremely rare and historic set, in a gatefold jacket without major fault (just a hint of ring), original booklet is fine, and both records should play near mint.
Not to be missed by music lover and audiophile alike.
