I've owned this record since new in 1966 and have played it carefully. Whilst not being an expert in grading LPs, I would say that it plays as well as some Ex graded records I have bought on eBay, certainly VG+ with minimal crackling on needle run-in and no crackling that I can hear during playback. For me, it seems to play just as well as when I first played it 48 years ago. However, the sleeve tells a different story. It would seem that it was not up to standard from the start. The top seam split a long time ago but has not been repaired. Instead it was kept in a polythene outer sleeve. Also included is the original Blue Note characterised inner paper sleeve in reasonably good condition. Apart from the above mentioned split, the sleeve is in good condition except for some slight yellowing on the reverse. If you've read this far, you'll probably already know what a highly rated album this is with every track composed by Lee Morgan.
