The Smiths - 'Hatful Of Hollow' First Run White Label LP - 1984

This white label pressing of 'Hatful Of Hollow' would have been used to promote the release of the album in the UK in 1984. Examples which remain in good collectable condition are becoming difficult to obtain, and this item appeared at Number 59 in Record Collector's 2005 'Smiths Top 100 Rarities' list. What makes this copy somewhat more interesting is that the sleeve has a slight misprint, in that the 'dot' on the reverse of the sleeve between the track titles for 'Accept Yourself' and 'Girl Afraid' is missing. As explained in the aforementioned article, the very first pressings were sent out in these misprinted sleeves and the "A1 / B1" matrix numbers on the record's run-out grooves confirm that this is one of the first run presses. Both record and sleeve here have been maintained in exceptional condition, and hence are extremely collectable.The record has seen very little play, and retains its glossy sheen with no visible surface marks on the vinyl. It remains in near mint condition. The misprinted gatefold outer sleeve is also in near mint condition, with only the lightest of corner and edge rubbing in a few places. There are no creases, damage or writing anywhere. The rear portion of the sleeve has been neatly punctured by a 'hole punch', consistent with the procedure commonly carried out to denote a promotional item which is not for re-sale. Please see the accompanying photos for more detail; note that the 'Ebay ID' lettering is just on the pictures and not on the item itself.
