Description
The experience of buying records on Ebay is ruined if, when they arrive, you discover that they are either not in the condition stated or have been damaged in the post! For this reason I describe all my items in detail, and only post using strong sturdy packaging in a 'box' mailer with the record outside the sleeve to avoid seam-splitting. They are also from a non-smoking and pet-free home.

Japanese 1980s vinyl releases are renowned for being pressed on high-quality vinyl, with lavish packaging, and issued in limited numbers; all of which have made them highly desirable amongst collectors and very difficult to get hold of. This auction is for an original 1984 Tokuma Japan release of 'Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now', and is complete with both its original striking orange/white OBI strip and rare original Japanese paper insert with printed images and Japanese text (see photos). The standard 12" Japanese pressing appeared in the 2005 Record Collector Top 100 rarities article at number 45, and is a very highly-prized item indeed, but this copy is even rarer in that it is the scarce promotional version, which is distinguished by having a white/black 'SAMPLE' sticker in the top right corner of the outer sleeve and the Japanese promotional text/characters printed on the record labels (see photos). Such promotional Tokuma Japanese pressings rarely turn up for sale these days, and this one has survived in terrific collectable condition (see below).The vinyl and labels are in superb near mint condition, appearing to be unplayed and having been extremely well looked after; there are barely even any 'hairline' superficial surface marks on the highly-glossy pristine vinyl. The outer sleeve is somewhere between strong excellent and near mint condition, with no marks or creasing and barely even any 'corner wear' on this superb sleeve. The edges and spine are all strong and sharp and there are no signs of any seam-splitting anywhere. The OBI strip is in near mint condition, with no marks, tears or creases and the rare Japanese printed paper insert is also in near mint condition. A extremely nice promotional vinyl pressing in outstanding condition.
