Description
THE SMITHS:'The Queen is Dead' Original vinyl Rough Trade, 1st pressing. Gatefold and inner deluxe sleeves. ROUGH 96
1986. VIRTUALLY MINT!!!
Immaculate vinyl & sleeves -Sleeves, including Alain Delon monochrome glossy card inner virtually unmarked; only faint evidence of very minor wear to gatefold sleeve edges - nothing more than might be evident if from a shop; but better in every respect, since this copy is straight from Rough Trade as a press review copy to the owner. It has not been played more than three times since receipt. I played this with a very good cartridge /stylus before listing. Not only is the vinyl extremely clean, the lack of any surface/crackle is remarkable. Superb condition.
Record has had a further paper/polythene inner sleeve to prevent the card inner sleeve scratching the disc on removal /return.
Gatefold cover has all lyrics printed on left and the famous Salford Lads Club band pose photo.
The labels are in excellent condition with NO sign of spindle marks.
The front cover has the pink circular Rough Trade sticker advertising the singles Bigmouth Strikes Again and The Boy With the Thorn in His Side
Matrix numbers (and runout groove markings):
ROUGH 96 MPO A1 FEAR OF MANCHESTER
ROUGH 96 MPO B1 THEM WAS ROTTEN DAYS
*Will be posted with cardboard protective stiffeners, and the inner sleeve will be removed from outer to prevent any splits in transit.*
Further notes:
Gatefold lyric cover with printed inner sleeve
1st press A1, B1 matrix and runout groove markings
Superb all round condition 'mint' vinyl and cover
Album Cover notes:
Front and back covers are still in near mint condition, minor blemishes
Inner sleeve, near mint condition
