The Smiths - USA Debut LP Promo Sampler (3 Tracks) - 1984

This fairly unusual and rare item was issued in the US to promote The Smiths' debut album in 1984. It came in a specially-designed outer sleeve, which was particularly rare for the US promo 12"s, and is rather understated but nonetheless charming in its own right. The font and colour scheme which were used are very distinctive and identify it immediately with early Smiths artwork. This 12" has the tracks 'What Difference Does It Make?', 'This Charming Man' and 'Reel Around The Fountain' distributed over the two sides of the record. This item is in superb condition (see below) and is rarely seen offered for sale.

The vinyl and labels are in strong excellent condition, with only light 'hairline' surface marks becoming visible if the glossy vinyl is held to the light; the record appears to have been played once or twice at most. The outer sleeve is in also in strong excellent condition, with some light wear to the corners being the only real signs of ageing. The edges are all strong and sharp, and there is no seam splitting and no writing or damage anywhere. Please see the accompanying photos for more detail; note that the 'Ebay ID' lettering is just on the pictures and not on the item itself.
