Description
This is The Smiths' maxi-single version of the song, "William, It Was Really Nothing", released in 1984. Written by Morrissey, it is believed to be about his short friendship'with Billy MacKenzie, who was a Scottish punk star at the time. The German pressing here is on the Intercord label and is of purple marbled vinyl. A rare fascinating simulation of texture gives the record a hyponotizing appeal on the turntable. Many critics consider the musicality of this song as classic and put it in the ranking as one of the best rock songs of all time.
