Description

Original 24.02.1984 UK A1/B3 1st Press copy of The Smiths- The Smiths, their debut album which includes What Difference Does It Make? and Hand In Glove. This is the stencilled Rough Trade logo version.
Released on the Rough Trade label ROUGH 61 this is an iconic album which is part of our cultural history.
The record has been ultrasonically cleaned in our amazing Degritter and the vinyl has come up sparkling clean with a glossy sheen and no real marks apart from a teeny scuff and fingermark, barely visible. Clean labels and spindle holes - graded EX.
Playtest was a joy! Wonderfully nostalgic, it plays with vibrancy -clear tones, depth and masses of detail with Morrissey's unique vocals central in the soundstage.  Johnny Marr's wonderful distinctive guitar style is fresh and sparkling. This album smashes it with superb sound quality!
The vinyl plays through beautifully with no jumping, sticking or skipping. 
The outer sleeve is solid & sturdy with light shelfwear to top and bottom, plus creasing & corner rubbing. Spine mostly readable with some flaking ( see photos) No writing, splits, stains, tape or tears.
The original printed inner lyric sleeve is present with some wear, however, we have popped the record into a new poly lined inner sleeve to preserve it after cleaning - you will receive both.
