Since being brought back from the dead by Defected, original 1990s NYC house imprint Sub-Urban Records has reissued many classic cuts, often adding fresh revisions from like-minded producers. This compilation style EP, the first in an ongoing series, showcases a selection of these classic cuts. Naturally, there's plenty of solid-gold fare on show, from Scott Diaz's extended New Jersey garage-house dub of Next Phase, Helen Bruner and Terry Jones' 1997 gem 'My Desire', to the soulful house brilliance of the New Heights Swing mix of Key To Life featuring Sabrina Johnson's 1994 classic 'Forever'. Sandwiched in between you'll find Crackazat's recent, piano-heavy rub of Deep Zone featuring Cybil Davis's 'It's Gonna Be Alright' (1995) and a brilliant "hard" NJ garage rework of 10th Street Assembly by Kerri Chandler under the Kaoz 6.23 alias.
