Description
This is a superb quality original and FIRST PRESS recording of The Spencer Davis Group THEIR FIRST LP, released in 1965 on Fontana (TL 5242).

Featuring the unique voice of Steve Winwood, this is a superb example of the bluesy/rock type music of this influential 60's group.
The sleeve is in excellent condition, with a shiny front showing little sign of its age. There is slight ring wear, some small creasing near the spine and a couple of other slight creases, but this is a nice front. The back is also good, though there is a light stain top left and a shop sticker (harlequin record shops) bottom left. The spine is undamaged. All in all this is a very good, sound sleeve. The original poly-lined inner is also in good condition.
The vinyl is lovely and shiny. On the first side there is a slight scuff mark, which almost appears to be underneath the sheen and two slight scratches across tracks 3 to 5. The sound reproduction is unaffected by either of these blemishes. The second side is free from marks and scratches. The labels are clean and all in all this is a superb vinyl.
I'm loath to part with this record, but would like it to go to a true fan of The Spencer Davis Group, who is looking to collect fine examples of their early recordings, which this certainly is. If this sale is successful I will be listing another great example of their second album, which is also a first press.
