A rare opportunity to acquire a real collector’s item.
Standard English EP - The debut recording from Blackburn band, The Stiffs.
Famously beloved of the late great John Peel.
This is an original 1979 copy released on their own Dork Records.
A great survivor copy (although there is a condition issue so please read carefully)

Vinyl: Ex A lovely clean copy for its age. Carries only the lightest of superficial hairline surface marks and still retains a nice lustre and sheen. Play-tested in full and the reproduction is fantastic. No skips or scratches. Takes me back to the early rehearsal days at St Mary’s College in Blackburn where we watched them evolve.
Labels are the standard Dork design, white cross on coloured background. For this release, it was red on a solid centre. Labels are clean with no scuffs, stains or blemishes and only light traces of spindle-wear.
HOWEVER…..
…There is a very small chip on the outer edge of the disc - shown in photo close up. I can verify that the chip has no effect at all on playback and does not interfere with automatic turntable reproduction.
This comes with a plain paper die cut, not the Dork design cover (sadly)
A genuine rarity with a standout track in Brookside Riot Squad. The instrumental break is very reminiscent of Another Girl Another Planet by The Only Ones.
Offered at a very reasonable start price given the way that recent listings have fared on this site. (EBay’s algorithm is suggesting I start this at more than three figures!!!) No hidden reserves and will ship anywhere.
