Description

An original 1st issue of the DEBUT on UK Silvertone. Matrix A2/B2 - as per 1st cut. Etchings '89/8'. This is NOT the very earliest 1st press, but would have been available whilst the album was still charting [just a matter of a couple of months later]. The vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue cover - the "non-embossed" version [both versions were available whilst the album charted]. Note that both the cover and the record labels mention the 'EEC'. We also have the original inner sleeve. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In superb order and has clearly seen only light careful use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side, and one superficial trail - nothing remotely troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations per side. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. And you're going to need that on this title - the Roses loved a slow-build...and there's some intricate low-key moments too. By and large a clean player - and when on song it is more than capable of delivering this masterpiece to full effect. The only issues I could pick out were... one brief pop in the rumbling low-key intro to 'Adored'. And then just some light static briefly in the intro to Waterfall & BBB on side 1. On side 2 - that short and sweet 'Elizabeth' exhibits a touch of light background and there were a few crackles in the quieter moments of "TITO" too. Nothing invasive - only noticeable, really, by virtue of the low-key audio in these passages. Other than expect a top-level rendition which will keep you begging for more.
Cover (Ex) Difficult to find in tip top condition - but this example is looking very tidy indeed. The front really is superb looking. I can barely make out a single crease - just one very light indentation. The rear is looking just as good. Many examples will have got quite scuffed by this point in time. But someone's really taken great care with this copy. Edge wear is very insignificant really and the openings still sharpish. The spine is in excellent order with the text just about all legible - and a touch of wear right down at the foot. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex-)  In excellent as is not overly worn. There's a one inch side split - but I have taped it up internally. It's just a minor cosmetic issue now.
