The Stranglers BELGIAN IMPORT Black & White LP with FREE 9 Single Rare
Lots of pics for this one as I understand it was manufactured in the UK for distribution in Belgium.
I owned this for many years and until recently believed it to be French. There was even some debate amongst the hardened Stranglers community as to this record’s national identity, but Belgium won the argument.
Although opened, the cover is still in its original cellophane and sports a slightly different OBI to the standard French release on the .org site here: http://www.stranglers.org.uk/france/graphics/black-white-french1.jpg
To point out some differences with the French release; the OBI includes the words “IMPORT” and “distribution sonopresse”. And the issue number is UAK3022 (whereas the French is UAKF30222). Note that this has UA labels, rather than the French release on cloud labels.
This LP comes complete with the FREE 9 “Walk On By / Mean to Me / Tits” single and its corresponding insert. It is not an LP you will likely find again any day soon and there is no mention of Belgian LP’s anywhere on the Stranglers.org discography site.
To the best of my knowledge only one other known Stranglers fan owns this complete package with the Free 9 single, and (having been diagnosed with “Leif Garrett envy”) he will surely never let his copy go.

Wishing a very Happy Christmas to all Stranglers fans with this massive bonanza of *90* very special records (& cassettes); up for a 10-day auction, appearing every two minutes and spanning an epic three-hour period.
So if all you got today was a pair of mangy old socks and are spending Christmas night alone, then stick with me for some entertainment. Otherwise, get back to your families & friends, grab that bottle of Jet Black Porter you were saving, have a wonderful evening and check back on my 90 Stranglers items any time over the next ten days to see if anything takes your fancy. There is enough to go around, and hopefully something to appeal to everyone’s budget and fill a gap in any collection.
These 90 items span 26 countries from Argentina to Zimbabwe; look out for rare treasures from Colombia, Korea, Indonesia, South Africa and even a couple of Turkeys. Nearly half are test pressings, promos or bootlegs and there is a grand spread of rare albums, singles and cassettes too. With the likely “end price” ranging from under a fiver to £500+, please bid responsibly - the Stranglers aren’t just for Christmas!
All photos are of the actual item being sold - check them carefully. The illustrious "Toby jugs” (to prove non-stock photos) are not included.
My Stranglers records are all stored in polythene sleeves within proper record storage boxes. All items are in excellent condition for their age, and any flaws have been honestly reported.
POSTAGE: Charges are £2.08 for singles & cassettes, £3.82 for LP’s & 12” records. I will make a loss on these rates. The actual postage / courier method used will vary between 2nd class, 1st class, signed for or fully tracked; depending solely on eventual sale value of each item. For example, I won’t be spending £10+ on fully tracked postage for a £2 item. There is no “combined postage discount” on these sales, but please trust that I do not seek profit from postage and will reimburse any significant excesses for multiple purchases.
NB: Non-UK buyers will have to pay the going rate (surcharge) for Ebay’s “Global Shipping Program” - I have no control over this.
In buying this item you (like myself, who saw them in Paris just last month) will be a serious Stranglers fan. So if you have any dissatisfaction after purchase then talk to me and we will resolve fairly for all. Or you can return the item by recorded delivery (buyer pays for return postage) within two weeks and receive a full refund.
