Up for auction/sale is an incredibly rare, beautifully preserved matching pair of unofficial UK 7" singles from The The (Matt Johnson), released in 1987 by Injected Music / Matthe. I purchased both records at a gig in the late 1980s and wasn't that keen on the tracks when I got home. As a result they were hardly played and have spent nearly 40 years safely stored upright in a cupboard. They have been played no more than 5 times each and are in stunning Excellent to Near Mint condition. I have tried to photograph the original hand scratched code numbers found on the lead-outs on each side of the disks.
Disk 1: "Cold Spell Ahead" / "Hot Ice" (Injected Music – IMS 52)
Vinyl: (VG+ Grade) Bright Yellow Wax (Excellent condition surface).
Sleeve: (VG Grade) Complete with original plain white inner sleeve and the incredibly rare folded Yellow and Black printed wrap-around outer cover. Slight ring marking where the disk has pressed against the paper sleeve (see photos). No sleeve cuts.
Disk 2: "Controversial Subject" / "Black and White" (Matthe – IMS 53)
Vinyl: (NM Grade) Pale Blue Wax (Excellent condition surface).
Sleeve: (VG+ Grade) Complete with original Red and Black picture sleeve. No sleeve cuts.
An unrepeatable opportunity for hardcore "The The" completionists to acquire both halves of this 1987 vinyl set in top grade condition.
