The Untamed – It's Not True 1965 UK Planet PLF.103 7" 45 Rock, Mod

The Untamed were a 1960s R&B/Beat group from Worthing, England. They covered a relatively obscure Pete Townshend song, "It's Not True" (which had been on the Who's first LP), for one of their singles. It didn't help them make the charts!


The age appropriate, but probably not the original, white paper generic sleeve is undamaged. There is minimal age-related handling and fading. Graded as VG. 


The vinyl easily and conservatively grades as EX+. It has been played - but not much. The Planet three prong push out centre does not show clear spindle marks on either side but this is likely due to the printed black and silver labels which would make them difficult to see. The labels are clean and undamaged. Despite the fact that it has been occasionally(?) played there are no obvious scratches. There are some light scuffs and a hairline or two on Side A but none on Side B. These do not impact on play or sound quality.  On play grading there was naturally a little static crackle on the run in and run out on both sides and no, or minimal, deterioration in the audio - certainly nothing which impacts on sound quality and therefore enjoyment of the record.  The surface is still clean and shiny. If not for the light marks on Side A this would certainly rate as an archive example although it is suggested that it would be difficult to find a better copy of this 58 year old record.
