LP a copertina non apribile. Rara seconda stampa con inserto di 2 pagine contenente i testi in inglese e note biografiche in giapponese. OBI a colori a sfondo giallo e nero, riportante il prezzi di yen 2.300

White Light/White Heat è il loro secondo album, pubblicato nel 1968. Segna il termine della collaborazione della band con Andy Warhol e con Nico (Christa Paffgen); la collaborazione tra John Cale e la cantante tedesca riprenderà dopo lo scioglimento del gruppo. White Light/White Heat è spesso considerato il vero capolavoro dei Velvet Underground, anche più del maggiormente celebre album di debutto The Velvet Underground & Nico. L'album sceglie come filo conduttore lo stesso della pop art di Andy Warhol: l’alienazione dell’uomo all’interno della società postmoderna, con una violenza sonora e rumoristica più accentuata rispetto all'esordio. I testi (scritti da Lou Reed, a volte con la collaborazione di John Cale) raccontano episodi quotidiani di paranoia metropolitana, caratterizzati da descrizioni fredde, asettiche e ripetitive. La copertina del disco, ancora ideata da Andy Warhol ma realizzata dal fotografo Billy Name (vero nome Billy Linich), è completamente nera ad eccezione del nome del gruppo e del titolo del disco. Nell'angolo in basso a sinistra era visibile in controluce un teschio trapassato da un coltello (si trattava di un tatuaggio dello stesso Name) stampato con inchiostro nero su sfondo nero. Proprio questa sua particolarità rese la copertina di difficile riproduzione nelle ristampe economiche successive, che si limitarono alla riproduzione della copertina tutta nera senza teschio in trasparenza. Inoltre, alcune copie dell'edizione americana avevano la grafia sbagliata dell'ultimo titolo del primo lato: There She Comes Now invece di Here She Comes Now. La ristampa inglese del 1971 aveva una copertina differente, la cover nera era stata sostituita da una foto in bianco e nero di un gruppo di soldatini giocattolo, opera di un certo Hamish Grimes.

White Light / White Heat is their second album, released in 1968. Marks the end of the band's collaboration with Andy Warhol and Nico (Christa Paffgen), the collaboration between John Cale and the German singer will resume after the dissolution of the group. White Light / White Heat is often considered the masterpiece of the Velvet Underground, even more than the most famous debut album The Velvet Underground & Nico. The album chosen as the common thread the same as the pop art of Andy Warhol: man's alienation in the postmodern society, with a violence and noise rumoristica more important than his debut. The texts (written by Lou Reed, sometimes in collaboration with John Cale) reports episodes of paranoia metro dailies, characterized by descriptions cold, aseptic and repetitive. The album cover, designed by Andy Warhol, but still made by photographer Billy Name (Billy LINICA real name) is completely black except for the group name and the title of the disc. In the lower left was visible against the skull pierced by a knife (it was a tattoo of the same Name) printed with black ink on a black background. Just this peculiarity made the cover of difficult economic reproduction in subsequent printings, which was limited to the reproduction of the cover all black skull without transparency. Also, some copies of the American edition had the wrong spelling of last name of the first side: instead of "There She Comes Now Here She Comes Now. English reprint of 1971 had a different cover, the black cover was replaced with a black and white photos of a group of toy soldiers, the work of some Hamish Grimes.
