Incredible story about this group. They were from Odessa,TX. Virgil Johnson was a teacher in high school and the Velvets were some of his students! A 1961 Summertime classic I still enjoy after owning and listening to it for 53 years. Many Doo Wop  Listeners Did not know that they were a Black Group.? They sounded like a white Group.? Virgil Johnson said so in an interview,? That's why it was hard for them to have many more Hit songs R.I.P. Virgil you are missed by your fans.?
RECORD CONDITION - BOTH SIDES VERY GOOD PLUS LABEL CONDITION - VERY GOOD BOTH SIDES. SMALL STICKER MARK ON 'A' SIDE

Grading

  • Mint - I will not grade Mint unless I am absolutely sure it has not been played
  • Mint Minus - Label and Vinyl looks perfect and plays perfect
  • Excellent - Vinyl has virtually no blemishes . Plays Perfect. Label may have a sticker.
  • VG plus - Has the odd superficial mark but plays without any surface noise or skips or crackles. Very close to Excellent. May have sticker
  • VG - Same as above but may have more marks. But still plays without skips or surface noise.
  • GOOD  Has more noticeable marks than a VG+ but has no skips or jumps. May have SLIGHT surface noise
