The Who - My Generation/Shout and Shimmy - U.K. Brunswick 05944 - The vinyl is Superb Mint. You will not find a better copy anywhere. There is literally one spindle mark and the shiny vinyl is perfect. I believe this was only played once. I cannot test the sound quality as I no longer have a turntable. Original paper Brunswick paper sleeve.
Since this was a hugely popular hit for The Who most of them were played to death.
I became a huge fan of The Who after seeing them with Blues Magoos and Hermans Hermits at the War Memorial Auditorium in Rochester, New York on August 29, 1967. I started collecting their records in the mid-1970s. My goal was to acquire all of their U.S., U.K. and Japanese singles, and I met that goal. I picked up some really rare pieces, including an original High Numbers single, the "Who Did It" LP, the U.S. "Young Man Blues" single (promo picture sleeve single and the hideously rare stock copy).
Most of my collection was amassed in the early 1980s after many trips to New York City, subscribing to Goldmine magazine and corresponding with collectors around the world. They have sat in boxes in storage for the past 40+ years.
I am now breaking up my collection, starting with the U.K. singles.
