The Who Quadrophenia 1st Issue Track Records LP

 

I am gradually selling off parts of my record collection. This copy of Quadrophenia was given to me by a friend. I have hardly played it. According to information gleaned from 'Discogs' website, this is a first issue. The identifying features are the spine, which is printed with the group's name, the name of the LP, the words 'TRACK DELUXE DOUBLE' and the set number 2657 013. The inside back cover includes the words 'Printed by Euro-Albums Holland B.V.', also the mark of a first issue.

The vinyl is in incredibly good condition and plays with little or no surface noise or distortion. The booklet is still intact and attached to the cover, although it has loosened a little from the staples (see photo). There is a little browning on the top of the booklet (see photo) and a small mark on the back cover (see photo). I would judge the overall condition as 'excellent' (see below). The vinyl is in near mint condition.

This item will be dispatched on the day of payment or the next working day by Royal Mail Second Class Standard Delivery. The cost of postage and packing within the UK is included in the starting price. There will be no 'buy it now' price for this item.

I would welcome bids from overseas. Postage costs for Western Europe will be £4.42, and for North America £9.44.

A note on the condition of records and sleeves

I play records on an Acoustic Research turntable. I use a Naim amplifier and PMC speakers.

I follow the Record Collector Grading Guide, quoted below. I never list a record as 'mint', since all records in my collection have been played. However, I have looked after them with great care, and a buyer can expect this to be reflected in the condition of the vinyl and packaging. I would only list an item in 'good' condition if it was particularly rare and might still have wide appeal, in spite of its condition.

MINT (M): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT (E): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
