Description
An original 1st press of Quadrophenia on the UK Track label from 1973. Matrix A1/B2/A1/B2. Please note labels are consistent with 1st press - they are matt black and are NOT ridged. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original soft-back cover with booklet pages included in the interior. Also included are two 'plastic bag warning' inner sleeves. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+/Ex+/Ex+/Ex+) In absolutely superb condition and have only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Interference is, thankfully, practically non-existent. We couldn't detect more than a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. It is a fantastic rendition and mighty impressive from start to finish.
Cover (Vg+) The 1st issue Quadrophenia cover is made from soft-card and consequently is extremely difficult to find in anything approaching excellent condition. This example is well above average and has survived the years very well indeed. Nice and clean front and back. The only vaguely noticeable issue is a sticker removal mark in the top extreme-left and then some light ring wear on the rear. The interior and booklet pages are all present and in excellent condition. Please note the inner booklet has been taped in [which you will find with most copies as the staples were never suitable to hold the weight of the booklet] so do expect a bit of tape residue in a couple of places. Edge wear is reasonably light and the text is still visible on the spine. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) One seems to have aged and the other has escaped it. Neither have any splits.
