Description

An original 1st press of QUAD on the UK Track label from 1973. Matrix A2/B1/A1/B2 [including V420 on each side]. Please note true 1st press labels are easy to identify - they must be matt and flat..not ridged! The real 1st presses are heavy-set and sound significantly better than the later copies. The vinyl comes housed in an original soft-card gatefold cover with inner booklet.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In very nice condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing vaguely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback across all four sides. Beautiful quality audio as is only delivered from these true early copies. Interference is both very minor and infrequent. All I could detect were a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments per disc e.g. the intro to 'I am the sea'. Most certainly an impressive rendition from start to finish with very little to find fault with.
Cover (Vg+) These soft-card 1st issue covers are an absolute nightmare to find in top-level condition due to the way they were manufactured. This example, however, remains in pretty decent condition and hasn't been abused. Front exhibits a bit of handling wear on the front. The rear looks much better with less surface wear. Edge wear is relatively light for this title and the text on the spine is still pretty much all still legible - but there is a 1c.m of spine missing right at the top. The interior looks very nice and has not been abused. Please note that the inner book is currently just about hanging in there, but it is starting to move so might not stay that way! - this seems to occur on 99% of all copies so is not remotely surprising. The booklet seems to be all intact and has not seen excessive use.
